Cassie and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs settle lawsuit after she accuses him of rape, abuse

Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs have reached a settlement a mere 24 hours after she filed a lawsuit against him, accusing the hip-hop mogul of rape and years of abuse.

Both parties made the announcement on Friday evening with separate statements given to the New York Times.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, said in her statement.

“I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

In his own statement, Mr. Combs, 54, said, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

They disclosed no details about the terms of the settlement, but resolving the matter means Diddy a possible trial and Cassie avoids a potential cross-examination by Mr. Combs’s attorneys.

Page Six reached out to both Cassie’s attorney and Diddy’s rep for our own comments, but we did not immediately hear back.

Just one day before reaching their settlement, Cassie, 37, filed a lawsuit against her ex, accusing him of raping her, physically abusing, forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes as he watched and masturbated and introducing her to alcohol and drugs.

In response to her suit, which was obtained by Page Six and filed on Thursday in Federal District Court in Manhattan, Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, said, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”

Cassie, who hasn’t dated Diddy for a number of years, said she never went to the police prior to her filing because she feared it “would merely give Mr. Combs another excuse to hurt her.”

She claimed he controlled almost every aspect of her life, paying for her homes, car, clothes and other necessities. She even alleged he had access to her personal medical records.

In the last 24 hours since Cassie’s accusations went public, past allegations of violence and abuse resurfaced.

Other musicians, including Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day, also publicly voiced their support for Cassie.
