Anything can happen on a live broadcast.
During Saturday’s edition of “College GameDay,” Kirk Herbstreit’s mic reportedly went out just as he was discussing the matchup between Kansas State and Texas.
While mentioning the technical difficulties later in the show, Herbstreit questioned whether something was unplugged to cause the malfunction.
“Probably Connor Stalions,” McAfee responded, referencing the former Michigan recruiting analyst allegedly at the center of the sign-stealing scandal. “Where’s that son of a bitch at?”
Stalions resigned from his position with the Wolverines football team on Friday.
“I love the University of Michigan and its football program,” Stalions said in a statement. “And I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to work with the incredible student-athletes, Coach Harbaugh and the other coaches that have been a part of the Michigan family during my tenure. I do not want to be a distraction from what I hope will be a championship run for the team, and I will continue to cheer them on.”

His attorney, Brad Beckworth, also commented on the resignation.
“As he informed the school earlier today, Connor chose to resign because recent stories regarding his time with the University of Michigan have created a distraction for the team. He hopes his resignation will help the team and coaching staff focus on tomorrow’s game and the remainder of the season. Connor also wants to make it clear that, to his knowledge, neither Coach Harbaugh, nor any other coach or staff member, told anyone to break any rules or were aware of improper conduct regarding the recent allegations of advanced scouting.”
Stalions, who was previously suspended without pay by Michigan prior to his resignation, was accused of leading the football program’s alleged sign-stealing operation and, according to a report from ESPN, allegedly purchasing tickets to games.
Also during the “College GameDay” broadcast, McAfee continued what’s turned into a weekly tradition of going shirtless during the broadcast, and this week, with warmer weather this week in Tuscaloosa for Alabama-LSU, the hyped crowd wanted him to do the same.
McAfee first removed his suit jacket to show off the sleeves on his shirt with Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban joining the show, but decided he had led the crowd on long enough.
