Cher is her biggest critic.
The “Believe” songstress revealed that she has never been a fan of her own music or her singing voice.
“I’m not a Cher fan, but I like doing it,” she told Paper magazine in an interview published Thursday.
“I just never liked my voice that much. If I had my choice, I probably would have another one, but I didn’t get my choice. I got my mother’s voice.”
The Grammy winner went on to explain that she thinks the tone of her voice is “weird.”
“It doesn’t sound like a man, it doesn’t sound like a woman. I’m somewhere more in-between,” she said.
“I have this strange style,” the pop icon continued. “I do what you do when you can’t hold a note: I don’t pronounce my Rs. I guess some consonants are hard to sing, so I just gotta leave them open.”
Despite her decades-long career at the top of the charts, Cher, 77, added that she hasn’t always felt content with many of her popular records.
“I’ve made so many albums, and some of the ones I thought were as good as I could like an album of mine weren’t hits. And then other ones that I was not that excited about [were],” she said.
However, the legendary hitmaker is optimistic about her new album, “Christmas,” which she recorded with 37-year-old beau Alexander “A.E.” Edwards.

“I like this album,” she said. “When I listen to it, I think this worked out. It wasn’t planned out, but it worked out.”
The “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer initially hit it off with the music producer after “about 15 minutes” at Paris Fashion Week in fall 2022.
Though the couple reportedly broke up in May, they seemingly rekindled their romance over the summer.
Cher gushed about Edwards to “Extra” earlier this month, sharing that they “just get each other.”
“I hate to talk about how happy I am, but … we have a great time together,” she told the outlet.
“We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He’s got a great sense of humor, he’s got the cutest son in the world, ever … We just get each other.”
However, she admitted their 40-year age gap often comes into play since Edwards doesn’t get most of her references from the past.
“Sometimes I’m talking to him and he has no idea who I’m talking about … He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet,’” she explained.
