West Coast Eagles player Andrew Gaff and his new wife Emma Van Worden had their wedding cut short due to a bushfire emergency.

Part of the cake and guests including fellow footy stars Shannon Hurn and Jack Darling were ushered to safety away from the Quarry Amphitheatre about 10.30pm.

“We were dancing… I was busting a move,” one guest said, adding they were rushed out of the venue by police.

The bushfire sparked a watch and act warning for parts of City Beach, Floreat and Mount Claremont.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control around midnight and by Monday morning it had been downgraded.
