An elderly man is fighting for life following a stabbing in Sydney’s west.
Police were called to a home on Mockridge Avenue, Newington, at about 3am on Thursday following reports of a domestic incident.
A woman, 80, was found with a stab wound to her hand, along with a man, 90 suffering from a stab wound to his neck.
Paramedics treated the pair who were then rushed to Westmead Hospital.
The man is in a critical condition while the woman is stable.
The woman also suffered a heart attack during the altercation.

The incident has rocked the usually quiet suburban neighbourhood
‘It’s pretty scary to be honest, we’ve been here three and half years and never seen anything like it,’ a shocked neighbour told Sunrise.
‘We got a small baby at home so it’s a bit scary.’
A woman added: ‘It is so surprising because this community is so safe.’
The unit complex was declared as a crime scene as police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detectives remained at the scene on Thursday morning.
No charges have been laid at this time.
