Born on May 18, 1995, Mario Barrios is a professional boxer from the United States who fights in the Light Welterweight and Welterweight weight classes.

Due to his dedication and skill, he enjoys a devoted following among boxing enthusiasts. Barrios received significant praise for his achievements, including taking home the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title.

He has made a name for himself in the sport as a dominant force thanks to his exceptional technical skill and persistent work ethic.

The elder sister of Mario Barrios, Selina Barrios is a former boxer known for her prowess in the ring. While not being as recognized as her brother, she is equally talented and accomplished.

Their journey began at the same time when the two were put in boxing by their mother, Isabel Soto, at an early age. She competed in the lightweight and super lightweight divisions.

Born on January 29, 1993, the former boxer nicknamed the Aztec Queen has taken up training now. She trains her brother alongside other fighters in the ring.

Selina has been with the athlete since day one, and now she directly aids his journey and fights in the ring.

Separated from being a trainer, Selina is a single mother, and her daughter is her priority. Everyone she works with understands her focus. As stated by the trainer, it all comes down to communication.

Ever since her mother put her in boxing, it has been her everything. Even after ending her professional career, she continues to share her experiences with others as a trainer.

Selina Barrios is not the single sibling of the former WBA (Regular) super lightweight champion, Mario Barrios.

They had a sister who was murdered by their biological father, Mario Barrios Sr. The older sister of Barrios, Esperanza, is missed in the house.

The two were raised in the vacuum of her absence, in a house where her memories were everywhere.

When Mario was seven weeks old, Esperanza tragically lost her life at the hands of her drunk, abusive father. Her absence was challenging for the family.

Despite being raised in a house full of pictures of Esperanza, the boxer never dared to ask about her, as adults always kept quiet when he entered.

It was at 9 when he finally learned about his late sister and the circumstances of her passing. However, showcasing his forgiving nature, the boxer forgave his biological father without asking for it.

Mario Barrios, born on May 18, 1995, is three years younger than Selina Barrios, born on January 29, 1993.

The boxer is 28 and his sister 30 years old as of 2023.

The narrow age gap between the siblings allowed them to be friends more than brother and sister growing up.

They both embarked on their boxing journey together when their mother put them in boxing academies.

After solidifying her presence in boxing, Selina is now a trainer who works closely with boxers, including her brother, directly aiding their skills in the ring.

Even after all these years, the siblings are remarkably close to one another, as their familial and work relationships strengthen their bond.
