Nineties indie legends reunite for new album and tour of the UK – 25 years after split

THE iconic Britpop group featuring Shaun Ryder is set to release their fourth album in November.

Their debut album, “It’s Great When You’re Straight…Yeah,” previously stormed the UK charts, reaching No.1 and achieving Platinum status in 1995 before the band endured a shocking split.

Now, Black Grape’s new album “Orange Head”, which is set to come out in November, promises to continue their tradition of pushing musical boundaries.

Made up of Happy Mondays’ frontman Shaun Ryder and rapper Kermit, Black Grape fell apart 25 years ago – when Ryder fired the other band members whilst touring.

The I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here star has now said of the release: “Black Grape has always been about pushing boundaries and defying expectations.

“‘Orange Head’ is the next chapter in our musical journey, and it’s packed with the energy and innovation that our fans have come to expect.”

The band will even embark on a short UK tour this November to celebrate the album, performing in: Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, London and Southampton.

Shaun said of the tour: “It’s going to be a wild ride of pure energy, infectious beats, and a whole lot of fun. See you in the front row!”

In 2017, when preparing to release their album ‘Pop Voodoo’, Ryder opened up about their reunion, stating: “The difference between Black Grape back then to us today is that today it’s just about the music.

“We were living a mad lifestyle and so music really did come second. But it was great. We had some good times — I just can’t remember most of them.”
