Rebecca-Lynne explained her husband Chandler had been digging holes to plant trees at the time

A Tennessee woman has unexpectedly found herself starring in CSI: My Backyard, after a bag of bones were found in her very out the back of her house.

Rebecca-Lynne Echols detailed her local brush with crime in a TikTok, explaining her husband Chandler had come across the suspicious bag while he was digging holes to plant trees.

‘He hit metal and kept digging and then hit fabric and kept trying to pull it up to see what it was,’ Rebecca-Lynne explained in the clip. ‘Then he hit what he thought was a tree root and went to pop it out, and it was not a tree root.

‘It was a bone.’

The mom-of-one said they immediately called the police as soon as they realized what they’d found.

Before they knew it, their backyard was crawling with cops and forensic investigators – although Chandler managed to get involved in the search.

‘They had him down where he had dug up the holes for the trees and they had him on his phone doing research on who the previous owners were and if they had any possible relation to a serial killer in our area,’ she explained in the lengthy video, which has been viewed over 1.2 million times.

‘So essentially, they just wanted to rule out that this was related to anybody.’

Rebecca-Lynne said the history of their own house – which they had moved to their house seven months earlier from Florida – wasn’t strange, with the pervious owners moving out after a year due to some family issues, and the owners before that’s worst offence being hoarders and owning too many animals.

However, she admitted the area had a bit of a dark history that neither she nor her husband were aware about.

‘There had been multiple mysterious murders around their neighborhood,’ she explained.

‘There is also another murder that happened right down the road from us about 20 years ago, and someone unalived [killed] their wife, and she was found in a retention pond that’s by our house.

‘So this area is kind of just, I guess, known for that, which we didn’t realize when we moved here,’ she said.

Rebecca-Lynne then showed a photos of the bag with the bone, which was completely shredded and was decaying so badly the bones looked more like charred wood.

‘It’s actually shredded to pieces because the cops ended up pulling it out and literally ripping it piece by piece,’ she explained. ‘They found a couple bone fragments, put them in a bag, and they actually just took them for DNA testing.’

She added they had a forensic officer who look at the bones to see if they were human or animals, and they couldn’t tell the difference, adding they didn’t find a skull in their search.

‘[They] should hopefully have an answer for us this week sometime,’ she said.

She added they are ‘super old’ so she’s not infringing on any active cases by posting it online.

‘It would be a cold case or be someone’s pet,’ she explained, although said  Chandler said ‘he did not think it was a deer bone,’ and ‘the police said pretty much their guess was human or a great Dane.’

In a comment, she said police verified the bones were not child’s bones, based on size.

Rebecca-Lynne added Chandler isn’t traumatized by what they found, joking they listen to ‘Crime Junkies and Sword and Scale.’

‘We had fun with it,’ she said.

TikTok users chimed in with their theories on where the bones could have comes from.

‘I think they are animal bones from the hoarders,’ one wrote.

‘Maybe his digging will bring closure to some family that’s been waiting. Hopeful for a good ending either way,’ added another.
