In 2009, he became the running backs coach for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League. He returned to the NFL in 2010 as an offensive assistant for the Washington Redskins, reporting to coach Mike Shanahan once more. He was named the wide receivers coach.
In 2014, he became the Cleveland Browns wide receivers coach under head coach Mike Pettine. In 2016, he was hired as an offensive assistant for the Atlanta Falcons, reporting to head coach Dan Quinn. He helped the Falcons reach Super Bowl LI when they were defeated by the New England Patriots in a stunning comeback.
