Future NFL Hall of Famer and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has shared an update regarding his brutal season-ending injury that happened in his first few plays as a New York Jet on Monday night.
Aaron Rodgers Post Surgery

In August 2023, future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets came to a three-year, $112.5 million deal that includes $75 million in fully guaranteed money for 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately, Rodgers’ season with the Jets has already come to an end early as he suffered a ruptured Achilles just four plays into his Jets season debut.
“An MRI confirmed today that Aaron Rodgers officially tore his Achilles on the fourth play of his Jets’ career,” Schefter reported on Tuesday. “Rodgers’ season now, officially, is over. There already are questions about whether his Hall-of-Fame career is, too.”
The NFL quarterback just got out of surgery for his torn Achilles, sharing an update with his fan base. “Surgery went great yesterday. Thank you for all the love and prayers and support,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself in the hospital bed. Looking closely, you can notice the gigantic bruise on his left ankle.
“And thanks to the goat Dr ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery,” he continued.
Yesterday, Rodgers broke his silence on the season-ending injury, writing, “Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon 🥹❤️. I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. 💔 Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. 🙏 ♾️ ❤️”.
The quarterback then wrote a quote. “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again,” he said before concluding with, “Proud of my guys, 1-0 🛩️ #.”
Robert Saleh On Aaron Rodgers

The Jets head coach Robert Saleh also spoke out, admitting he hopes Rodgers still sticks around the club to help mentor and coach quarterback Zach Wilson, who will be taking over the starting position.

“I think it’s very important,” the coach said. “I think it’s important for him. Mental health and healing, I think that’s very important. But his presence, his words… Like I said, he’s as much a football coach as he is a player, and just having his presence, his thoughts, his words and his leadership, I think anyone would want that.”
Following the game, NFL reporter Adam Schefter shared a close-up video of Rodgers’ injury, which shows the moment his calf reverberates, leaving him down on the field.

After the shocking injury, many NFL players spoke out about what it could mean for the Jets future, including Jets guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.
“It wasn’t ideal for anyone to see him down on the ground that long,” he said. “He kind of knew what had happened. Seeing him coming off the field definitely hurt us.”
