Two San Antonio men have been arrested for ‘kidnapping a couple at gunpoint in front of their five children’ – with an unidentified third suspect still at large.

Felipe Patricio Valdez, 40, and Xhavier Zeke Martinez, 29, were escorted out of San Antonio police headquarters in handcuffs and placed in the back of squad cars Thursday after it emerged the missing couple had been found safe.

Valdez has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and had a bail set at $250,000. Martinez, who has been previously issued with arrest warrants for deadly conduct with a firearm, evading arrest and interfering with public duties, faced the same charges but was set a higher bail of $256,000.

Samantha Esquivel-Zuniga, 38, and Ricky Zuniga, 37, were reportedly forced from their family home in the 3100 block of Mission Bell early Wednesday morning.

Police said the kidnapping was targeted but do not yet know if the couple knew the intruders.

Cops said Valdez and Zuniga kicked in the front door to the family home and dragged the couple out as their five children watched.

The only clue that the police had to go on in their search for the missing couple was a white SUV they were seen getting into.

Sgt Washington Moscoso told reporters Thursday that detectives worked ‘through the night’ to find the couple ‘ whose family was separated in such a violent way’.

He added: ‘The detectives through their investigation quickly realized that this was a targeted kidnapping it wasn’t a random act, it wasn’t just these individuals picked a house and kidnapped the individuals.’

The pair were found safely at a location off Culebra Road near West Commerce Street on the West Side early on Thursday morning.

A SWAT team reportedly descended on the home and the suspects were arrested ‘without incident’. Investigators are now searching the property.

Police have not named the third suspect wanted in relation to the kidnapping.

A neighbor of the suspects told NEWS4SA: ‘It’s kind of shocking to be honest cause I wouldn’t think those people would do something like that’.

A San Antonio Police Department spokesperson confirmed to DailyMail.com the parents are back with their kids.

A friend of the couple who had posted on Facebook begging for people to be on the lookout shared his reaction the news they had been found.

John Garcia Jr. said: ‘THANK U GOD!! Ricky and Samantha Esquivel-Zuniga are safe!’

Garcia Jr. also let his friends know that the couple had ‘no major injuries’ and were taken downtown for questioning.

The couple’s friends were shocked by the incident despite the police stating that the attack was targeted and planned.

Friends said on Facebook that they were ‘lost for words’ and shared prayers for the couple online.
