The hits keep coming for Christine Baumgartner, who has just been ordered to pay some of her estranged husband Kevin Costner’s legal fees.
Amid the pair’s contentious divorce battle in court, Costner’s attorneys asked Baumgartner if she understood the terms of the prenuptial agreement she signed before they said “I do” in September 2004.
After much back and forth, Baumgartner and her lawyers essentially said that they did not comprehend the word “understand.”
According to TMZ, the ordeal ended up costing Costner $14,237.50, which Baumgartner is now expected to fork over in full.
Though all signs initially pointed to the former handbag designer gearing up to challenge the prenup, it’s unclear if she will.
If she does and loses, the outlet claims she’ll have to cover Costner’s legal fees incurred in defending the contract.

Last week, the “Yellowstone” star scored a major win, as the Los Angeles judge overseeing the case granted his proposed amount of child support, thereby slashing Baumgartner’s payments by more than half.

Costner is now giving Baumgartner $63,209 per month for their three kids — Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13 — instead of $129,755, which he was paying before.
“This is a horrible place to be, but this is where we’re at,” the actor, 68, told reporters outside the courtroom following the ruling.
“It feels so bad. We’re talking about somebody I love on the other side. I just can’t.”
Asked whether he still has love for his estranged wife, Costner replied, “Of course.”
As for Baumgartner, 49, she vowed to find a way to support herself in the future, telling the judge, “I will look into the steps I need to take and any schooling I need to do, and I will enter the workforce.”
The former model has since moved into a $40,000-a-month rental home in Montecito, Calif., after being ordered to vacate the family compound.
Baumgartner filed for divorce from the Oscar winner in May after almost 19 years of marriage.
