Ex-Disney child star of “Good Luck, Charlie” fame, Mia Talerico, shocked Instagram users when the former actress posted a photo revealing that she had started high school.
“Your yearly reminder that you’re getting old,” wrote Talerico, 14, in the caption. “First day of high school!!!”
In the photo, Talerico is seen standing outside of her California home while wearing a black top and matching pants and shoes, holding a sign that says “first day of 9th grade 8-21-23.”
Talerico, who appeared as the titular character in the Disney series “Good Luck, Charlie,” went viral at a young age when one savvy web user turned a seemingly unremarkable shrug into a widely-used reaction meme.
Several of Talerico’s fans commented on the post claiming that they now felt extremely old.
“Damn we are getting old,” laughed one user. “I remember watching you on TV when you [were] just a toddler”
“High school? where in the world did all the time go,” asked another commenter.

“She’s so big,” gushed Talerico’s on-screen mom, actress Leigh-Allyn Baker. “Mia, you’re beautiful.”
“Good Luck, Charlie,” which ran from 2010 to 2014, follows Charlie and her family as they attempt to navigate life after her unexpected birth.
The viral moment that became a meme happened in the series’ second season after the Duncan family accidentally leaves the tot alone, causing the infant Talerico to contort her face in confusion while shrugging.
The series also became the first Disney show to feature an LGBTQ couple in a leading role capacity.
“This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors,” said a Disney spokesperson at the time. “It was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”
Joining the cast at just 2 years old, Talerico appeared in nearly 100 episodes before the show ended.
After “Good Luck Charlie” wrapped, Talerico was cast in Brat TV’s web series “Mani” when she was 6 years old.
According to Talerico’s IMBD page, the teen has only done a handful of projects since appearing in the sitcom.
