Oregon mom of four dies at same trail where husband proposed

An Oregon mother of four was found dead last week at the same trail where her husband proposed more than a decade earlier, her family said.

The body of Jessica Lindstrom, 34, of Central Point, was discovered n a remote trail on the north side of Deem Hills Recreation Area in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday night, KGW8 reported.

The registered nurse was last seen going for a hike in the area around 8:30 a.m. Friday, the outlet continued.

She was reported missing around 5:30 that evening.

“I was head over heels when we started dating and new (sic) right away she was the one. Coincidentally, I proposed to her at Deem Hills, where she ultimately succumbed to death. So eternally grateful that she said ‘YES’ and gave me a chance,” Lindstrom’s heartbroken husband, Daniel Lindstrom, wrote on Facebook on Monday.

Although the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner is still determining Lindstrom’s cause of death, preliminary findings indicated that she died fom heat-related causes, Phoenix Department Captain Scott Douglas said.

The local temperatures in Phoenix peaked at 115 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday, according to AccuWeather.

Lindstrom, who formerly lived in the Phoenix suburb of Peoria, was visiting family in the area at the time of her death, authorities said.

In addition to her husband, Lindstrom is survived by four young sons.

“We have been so overcome with the selfless service, the love, and the prayers that you have shown. We wish that we could thank each of your personally as you continue to reach out to our family, but please know that right now that is just not possible,” the heartfelt message read.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised over $37,000 of its $50,000 goal.
