Alyssa Farah Griffin Slams Hunter Biden Ahead of His Guilty Plea on ‘The View’: He’s “50 Shades of Shady”

Most of the women on The View have been rather defensive of President Joe Biden‘s son, Hunter Biden, over the last couple of months — but not Alyssa Farah Griffin. On this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, the Republican panelist slammed Hunter as “50 shades of shady.”

The conversation about Hunter was initially sparked during the opening Hot Topics segment. With Hunter expected to plead guilty to tax crimes in court today, Republicans also want to look into an alleged Biden bribery scheme.

According to Joy Behar, the right-wing always goes after Joe’s children, who are not a part of his administration — unlike former President Donald Trump‘s kids. She also claimed that any wrongdoing by the Biden administration is “not as bad as the other side,” leaving Griffin to shut down the “era of whataboutism.”

“Hunter Biden, I think, is 50 shades of shady,” she told the panel. “We know he’s dealt with addiction. I do not fault him for that. There’s definitely examples of influence peddling, of making money off of his name. That happens in politics. It doesn’t make it OK though.”

Before Griffin could finish, Whoopi Goldberg chimed in with her own thoughts. Referring to Trump’s unpaid taxes, she noted that Republicans wanting to investigate the Biden family should hold the same standard to the former president.

“That’s exactly the point. Trump’s broken the law in countless ways,” Griffin said. “The way in which he paid his taxes, unfortunately, is the way that our system works — which, I’m all for reforming that.”

She added, “I think that there is corruption. I think there’s things that should be looked at. [Hunter] is pleading guilty to tax crimes today which I think is the right thing to do — unlike the former president, who isn’t pleading guilty knowing he is guilty.”

When Behar brought up Jared Kushner accepting $2 billion from Saudi Arabia and Sunny Hostin mentioned Ivanka Trump‘s Chinese patents, Griffin assured her co-hosts that she’s “all for any of that getting investigated” — but feared we may have lowered the bar in the post-Trump era regarding other sketchy dealings.

“In any traditional environment, a lot of what Hunter Biden has been involved in would be something that would warrant investigation,” she said. “But Donald Trump has just destroyed norms so much — he muddied the swamp — that there’s always something worse that he’s done.”
