Skippers found eventually found the 6.5-metre long, 21-foot Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard yacht, which was riddled with holes and nearly sinking, about 225 kilometres off the Port Lincoln coast.
Doerr said he was still suffering head, neck and back injuries.
“Glad to see it hadn’t impacted anyone else, that was my biggest worry, I would have hated to have something happen to another ship with that out there,” Doerr said.
Skipper Bernie Henderson said there was plenty of wind and the trip was not much fun.

“We will all be able to go home and have a decent sleep, we haven’t had a lot of that the past few days,” Henderson said,
A crane will be used to winch the yacht from the water before it’s transported back to his Doer’s home on the Gold Coast.
Doer was rescued in 110km/h winds about 4.50pm on Friday, 630km west of Kangaroo Island, and about 740km southeast of Esperance on July 7.
