The Secret Service has ended its investigation into a small bag of cocaine that was reportedly found at the White House this month.
A source told CNN that it most likely belonged to one of the hundreds of visitors who tour the White House’s West Wing after they store their phones in cubbies. The substance was reportedly found in a cubby on the ground floor, and the Secret Service said the bag yielded “insufficient DNA” and no fingerprints.
The agency also stated that the cocaine was probably left there days before it was discovered, but “security systems” did not lead to a suspect.
According to CNN, officials are also uncertain as to when exactly the bag of cocaine was left at the White House. Tennessee Representative Tim Burchett that the bag contained less than a gram of cocaine.
