Born in 1948, Boppana Satyanarayana (B.S.) Rao was 75 years old when he died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
He founded Sri Chaitanya in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, with his wife after returning from their medical practice of 16 years in the UK and Iran.
Rao had a goal of sending many students from Andhra Pradesh to IITs, and with the help of his institute, it was achieved.
Their primary aim was to improve the well-being of students, particularly girls, who had faced significant challenges due to limited knowledge about opportunities.

To achieve this vision, the couple established the first Sri Chaitanya Girls Junior College in 1986, followed by a boys’ junior college in Hyderabad in 1991.
