The Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia (TGA) warned that Natural Instinct Kids SPF50+ Clean Sunscreen in the 200mL and 50mL packs were not offering appropriate protection from the sun and should not be used.
The TGA said they had received multiple reports the sunblock’s “fluid had split into layers”, meaning the medicinal ingredients that prevent sunburn are “not properly mixed, so when it is applied, it may not offer the same protection”.
Batches affected include Topical Cream in the 200mL bottle, with a serial number of 98519 and expiry date of November 2025, as well as the roll on 50mL bottle, with the serial number 98518 and same expiry.
“When you apply sunscreen, the ingredients inside the medicine help to protect your skin from damage caused by Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun,” The TGA said.

“Sun Protection Factor (SPF) lets you know how well the sunscreen will protect you from the sun. Since UV rays can cause skin cancer, the protection offered by sunscreen is very important.
“The liquid in the affected batches of Natural Instinct Kids SPF50+ Clean Sunscreen is splitting into layers, meaning the ingredients are no longer properly mixed.
“When this happens, the SPF of the medicine changes and may not offer any protection at all.”
