Ethan Hoac was walking home with two friends on Bailey Street in St Albans – a quiet residential street – about 11pm on June 26 when a car allegedly struck him.

Two masked males allegedly got out of the car and and assaulted him, leaving him on the road with stab wounds.

Hoac was treated by paramedics at the scene but died on the way to hospital.

Police yesterday arrested an 18-year-old Tarneit man, a 17-year-old Wyndham Vale boy and a 17-year-old Deer Park boy after carrying out search warrants in in Wyndham Vale, Deer Park and Fitzroy.

The three males have since been charged with murder and will face a children’s court today.

Hoac has been remembered by loved ones as a “sweet and amazing friend” who attended Braybrook College in Braybrook.

The two teenage boys who were with Hoac at the time of the attack were physically uninjured.

They fled the scene and contacted police immediately.
