A ceiling has partially collapsed into a ward at private hospital in Melbourne‘s north-east.

Firefighters, paramedics and police are at the scene at Warringal Private Hospital at Heidelberg, but no injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson from Fire Rescue Victoria has said crews were called to the hospital about 12.08pm after “a water pipe burst in the ceiling of the hospital, causing part of the ceiling to come down into a ward”.

“The crews are cleaning up,” the spokesperson said.

Aerial footage taken by helicopter appears to show a wooden pallet atop a caved in section of the hospital’s roof.

Victoria Police has confirmed there has been a “roof collapse”.
