The 61-year-old CEO of OceanGate Inc, Stockon Rush, whose tourist submarine disappeared during an expedition to explore the wreck of the Titanic. His entire family includes his wife, Wendy Rush, who is the director of communications for OceanGate and the leader of the expedition team. Authorities have not yet confirmed the names of the passengers. The submarine disappeared on Sunday, June 18, 2023, while diving to reach the wreck of the Titanic, and the U.S. Coast Guard and others launched a search to find it before the vessel runs out of oxygen in the ocean’s depths, the Coast Guard said in a press release.

According to his OceanGate bio, Stockton Rush is the site’s CEO and founder. In addition, Rush addresses OceanGate’s financial and engineering strategies and provides a clear vision for the development of the 4,000-meter, 6,000-capable manned submarines and their partner launch and recovery platforms, making Ocean Gate Inc a leading provider of manned submarines for scientific research.
The website says Rush is a co-founder and board member of the OceanGate Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to accelerate emerging marine technologies to further discoveries in marine science, history and archaeology.
