A bus has ended up with two of its wheels stuck on a concrete barrier following a collision with two cars on a busy Sydney road.

Emergency services including fire and rescue crews and ambulances were called to the intersection at Victoria Road and Lyons Road in Drummoyne, in the city’s inner west, after the crash at about 12.30pm on Thursday.

The bus’s front windshield has been completely smashed while its two side wheels are stuck on the concrete divider between the lanes, leaving the bus on a 30 degree angle.

All passengers have been freed from the bus while three men have been taken to hospital with minor injuries. 

Those injured include a driver who had to be freed from a ute involved in the collision, the bus driver and a bus passenger.

Twenty other patients were assessed at the scene by paramedics.

One lane on Victoria Road in both directions is open but motorists are urged to use Sydney Harbour Bridge or Church Street and Homebush Bay Drive instead.

Lyons Road is also closed between Victoria Road and Bayswater Street. 

A witness, James Willis, said the bus driver told him he wasn’t sure how the crash unfolded.

‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ he told 2GB.

‘Somehow it’s hit these bollards and is resting on two wheels on the other side of Victoria Road.’

Traffic has been significantly delayed while buses have been set back by up to 20 minutes.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews are working to move the bus off the divider.
