In its decision, the parole board “determined that Mr. Pitchfork was no longer necessary for the safety of the public and thus directed his release”.
“The prisoner had committed a shocking, serious crime which caused great harm to his victims,” it said.
“The panel noted that Mr. Pitchfork has been in prison for a very long time. His behavior for almost all of that time has caused no concern … and the evidence before the panel shows that he learned the lessons that he was taught and practiced.” I worked out how to implement them.”
