The woman, who police haven’t been able to identify, sustained a blunt force trauma to her head and is in a critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital.

WA Police are appealing for anyone who hasn’t heard from a loved one in the past few days to contact them as they try to identify the Jane Doe.

The incident happened on Sunday night but today construction sites on Tara Street in Bedford remained taped off.

Residents believe the woman may have been living on a vacant block of land nearby.

Police are still investigating and have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
