As per NBC News, he got into the ocean at Sylvania Road ocean side in Avon-by-the-Ocean at 8:30 a.m. Friday to save his girl who was battling to keep up in the wild surf. Mark Batista, who was found at around 10 a.m. around 50 feet from the coastline, was brought to an emergency clinic and later affirmed dead, as per police.
