An escaped double murderer from Ohio was found dead in the Ohio River Sunday in Kentucky.
Authorities discovered Bradley Gillespie, 50, and James Lee, 47, gone from the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution near Lima during a prisoner count Tuesday morning, as CrimeOnline reported. They were spotted in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday 350 miles away in Henderson, Kentucky, where officers tried unsuccessfully to pull it over.
The car later crashed, and both Gillespie and Lee fled on foot. Lee, however, was soon captured, while Gillespie got away, sparking an intensive manhunt.
Police said they were called to Henderson’s riverfront on Sunday after a body was found floating, WFIE reported. Identifiers on the body matched Gillespie, police said, but an autopsy will confirm the identity on Tuesday.

Gillespie was convicted in the 2016 murders of Frank Tracy Jr. and Hannah Fisher. Lee pleaded guilty to burglary in 2021 and was convicted of breaking and entering in 2020.
