Manchester United vs. Fulham pick: Premier League odds, predictions

Manchester United ticked a huge box this week.

The Red Devils defeated Chelsea, 4-1, on Thursday to clinch a spot in the 2023-24 Champions League.

United still has a ways to go to get back to the lofty heights that its fan base got used to during the Sir Alex Ferguson years, but getting back into Europe’s most prestigious competition was a significant step in the right direction.

Though qualifying for the Champions League was a major accomplishment for this group, its job isn’t done.

Manchester United already won the League Cup this season, but they have another chance for silverware next weekend in an FA Cup Final against Manchester City.

But before United travels back to Wembley for the FA Cup Final, they have to play a dead-rubber league match against Fulham.

Neither side has anything tangible to gain from the match.

With the FA Cup Final looming and United on short rest, we’re almost certainly going to see Erik ten Hag dress plenty of reserves in order to protect his key players from injury and fatigue.

Fulham doesn’t have anything to gain from a win in this match, but this is still a trip to Old Trafford for an upstart team that has enjoyed a terrific season after getting promoted a year ago.

This is a terrible spot to back Manchester United as a favorite.

Take a shot with the Cottagers to pull the upset and cap their surprising season on high note.
