A 95-year-old veteran has had his mobility scooter stolen from an aged care carpark in Melbourne’s inner east.

Police believe the two heartless thieves swiped the scooter between 3pm on May 13 and 10am on May 14.

Horst Olsner only moved into the facility on Hawthorn Road at Brighton East eight months ago.

Olsner noticed his $5000 scooter was stolen when he was on his way to Sunday mass.

“They love stealing from people and wasting their time,” he said.

Horst immigrated from Germany in his 20s and spent most of his life working as a PE teacher and judo trainer.

“I like to do things for myself but every year it gets harder for me to walk around,” he said.

It’s unclear how the thieves gained access to the carpark and police continue to investigate.

Police would like to speak with two men, who are perceived to be Caucasian in appearance. They were seen wearing black hoodies and trackpants.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact authorities.
