9-year-old boy falls to death from Bronx fire escape

A 9-year-old boy fell to his death from the fire escape of a Bronx apartment building Sunday afternoon, cops said.

The young boy plunged from the 4th floor of the building at 240 Mount Hope Place at around 4:11 p.m. He was discovered unconscious and unresponsive on the ground, according to police.

The child was rushed by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police are investigating what led to the tragic fall.

It was not immediately known if the boy lived in the six-story building.
