Today is the day that Tory Lanez is hoping a judge will say ‘hey, I’ll give you a new trial against Megan Thee Stallion’ and that wasn’t the case at all.
Tory Lanez Wanted A New Trail
A judge initially ruled that due to a motion for a new trial, Tory’s sentencing will be pushed back for just a little while longer. In court today, the defense expressed that they had new issues to raise, therefore, another court date was scheduled for next week.
The rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson was convicted in December of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The charges come with a good chunk of time behind bars a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months to be exact. Plus, Tory is a Canadian native meaning deportation is on the table. This sentencing was supposed to happen way back in January.
For one reason or another, it has been rescheduled twice and in the process, Tory hired a team of new lawyers. Not it’s official there will be no new trial and he can spend the ned two decades in jail. Damn!

Why Is Tory Lanez In Trouble Anyway?
The rapper was in an altercation with Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. The fellow rapper whose real name is Megan Pete was shot at by Tory in an SUV. The duo and a friend of Megan’s were leaving a party they all attended together at Kylie Jenner’s house.
A fight broke out between Megan and Tory and at some point, the police were called after shots were fired. A short time later, Megan took to the gram to state that she had indeed been shot and identified Tory as the person who shot the gun.
A bullet struck her foot, a far cry from her initial story to police that she stepped on glass something she later clarifies as an attempt to protect Tory a fellow person of color a group of people who has a complicated history with police.
Megan Thee Stallion Testified In Person
During the trial, Megan took the stand and shared her experience of that night. “I couldn’t walk for a while, I still have nerve damage. I can’t really feel the side of my left foot. The back of my feet are always sore, but I just push through it.”
Tory, however, believes that the evidence against him was presented in a negative light and bringing in Meg’s friend from that night Kelsey Harris was detrimental because she has been inconsistent in her testimony in the past.
