The show is the latest one to get the axe among many that are saying goodbye to Netflix whether they like it or not. The show that focused on rich Asian Americans in Los Angles and New York for its spinoff are both ending.

There will be no fourth season of the original show and season two of New York will not air. The show marketed itself as the real-life version of the popular film Crazy Rich Asians. Fans followed as they spent like crazy, celebrated traditions not known to many people, and attend fabulous vacations.

Season one of Bling Empire premiered in January 2021 and since then the cast has been rounded out with, Christine Chiu, Kane Lim, Kelly Mi Li, Kevin Kreider, Gabriel Chu, Anna Shay, Cherie Chan, Jessey Lee, Kim Lee, Andrew Gray, Jamie Xie, and Guy Tang.

As the series went on, the episode order got smaller and smaller season two had 10 episodes whereas, season three had only 8. While the latest season had the most character development it seems like it was too little, too late.

‘Bling Empire: New York’ Had A Familiar Cast

When the show ordered a spinoff, they signed on a familiar face, Dorothy Wang who made her reality TV debut in E! Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. She knows a majority of the cast of Bling Empire and made an appearance in season two of the show.

She was the natural choice to head the spinoff and joining her were Tina Leung, Deborah Hung, and Stephen Hung. The spinoff landed on Netflix in January 2023 the crazy part is Wang relocated to New York to make the show happen and this is how it ended up.

That being said, something tells us, she can afford to bounce back and forth

Netflix On A Canceling Spree?

Netflix is going through a real transition lately they have chosen to give the boot to a handful of their shows and just like every other year, it’s shocking. While some may be sad that Bling Empire is gone, they are not alone, another show supposedly on the brink of being canceled is My Unorthodox Life.

In the scripted program realm, many shows are off the schedule; White Lines, I Am Not Okay With This, Glow, Altered Carbon, The Order, and Away. Really the list is too long. Netflix isn’t helping itself with this whole password crackdown.

The company recently put into effect a block that doesn’t allow friends and family to share Netflix accounts unless they live in the same household. In addition, the streaming platform has been raising the prices of their monthly subscriptions way too much.

They don’t offer a lot of content that people want to watch anymore. However, they do have a plan to fix the account sharing; launching the option to add someone for a secondary fee.

Now all they need to do is stop canceling so many shows every year. Almost all the shows we listed above didn’t last one season and ended on a cliffhanger, something many people normally take to social media to rant about.
