Bystanders rendered first aid including CPR, until Anthony could be taken to hospital, where he later died.

Police have since identified the child Anthony had fought with and said they had been in contact with their parents throughout the investigation.

Police said an autopsy was underway to determine the cause of death.

”He played football. He was in boxing. He just finished basketball. He had no health problems,” family friend Nellie Barragan told CNN via KFSN.

“That’s what they’re saying is that maybe it was a medical condition. It was not.”

Aunt Angela Reyes said action needed to be taken.

“He’s gone, and he’s not coming back. Why? Why are they taking this long to do something?” she told Fox26.
