Kerry Katona makes heartbreaking plea to Atomic Kitten bandmates in wake of S Club’s Paul Cattermole’s death after feud

KERRY Katona has begged her Atomic Kitten bandmates to put their ongoing feud to bed after she was devastated by Paul Cattermole’s sudden death.

Kerry, who fell out with Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton in 2001 said how she has “reached out” so many times in the hope that the former girlband can be friends again.

S Club’s Paul was found dead at his home in Dorset aged 46 just weeks after the band revealed their plans to reunite.

Management told the stunned group that there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding his death.

Touched by the tragic news, Kerry wrote in her New! magazine column: “When something like this happens it brings home how I feel about my relationship with the Atomic Kitten girls.

“It’s really sad that we don’t talk. I’ve reached out to them so many times. Life is too short.”

Kerry quit the band in 2001 after falling pregnant with her first child with her then-husband Brian McFadden.

“I remember some of the fight we had in Atomic Kitten back in the day. Once, Liz punched me from behind after we had a little row. I was furious and got my own back,” she revealed previously.

“I made her get changed in the toilets at SMTV Live, then I stamped on her feet while we were up on stage singing Whole Again.”

Kerry was replaced by Jenny Frost and it was made very clear that the girls were happy with that choice.

Jenny once declared that she would “rather eat her own kidney with a spoon” than work with Kerry.

When the band talked about getting back together for ITV’s Big Reunion in 2013, Jenny said: “I don’t want to be derogatory about Kerry, but there shouldn’t be four of us in Atomic Kitten,” she said.

Kerry said in OK! magazine: “The thing is, I was the founding member of the band.”

“I’m not going to get into a slanging match over the Kittens but Jenny got the opportunity of a lifetime when she took over from me.

“They were number one when she joined the band but it was my voice on the record.”

Stars have shared their shock over Paul’s passing, with his ex and fellow band member Hannah Spearritt saying she can’t believe he’s gone.

“It’s still so raw and I have these moments where I don’t quite believe that it’s real. I still can’t believe I will never see him again,” she said.

“It’s all the more tragic because he was looking forward to the tour the most out of all of us. He just wanted to have fun and enjoy it.”
