The first stabbing occurred after a group of people had a fight at a home on Madgwick Street in Wynnum just before 5pm.

“During the altercation, a 30-year-old Wynnum man sustained serious stab wounds,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.”

Police said not long after members of the public found a man in his 20s on the side of the road with stab wounds on Arundel Street in Alexandra Hills just before 6pm.

“Police believe the man was assaulted at a Longlands Street, Cleveland address before being driven to Alexandra Hills,” Queensland Police said.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a critical injury.

Police are investigating and believe both incidents are linked.
