Early Life and Education

Lee was the eldest of four siblings, raised in his birthplace by parents of yet unknown names and professions. His family is from a middle-class background, and it is known that he helped them financially after he made his debut in the acting world. It is unknown when he took an interest in what he does today, as well as any of his childhood hobbies. He attended a thus far unidentified high school and matriculated in 1999, then enrolled at Joongbu University, a private research university in Goyang in South Korea, from where he graduated with a degree in broadcasting and media arts. Prior to matriculating, he had another supporting role in a TV series, this time by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) network and entitled “School”, where he remained for a total of 17 episodes. In 2002, he made another TV series appearance, but would remain under the radar until 2004, when he appeared in a short video as a thug. He had another supporting role in the same year, then in 2005 co-starred as Seol Gong-chan in the TV series entitled “My Girl”, in which he remained for 16 episodes through 2006. He was cast in five supporting roles of the course of the next five years, until finally landing another significant role, the lead male in “Scent of a Woman” in 2011, which helped him skyrocket to stardom, and his career gained momentum after that. Subsequently, he was featured in five long-term roles between 2011 and 2016, appearing in 13 episodes of “Goblin” then, and ultimately in another supporting role in a TV series in 2018. It is unknown what project he’s working on now.

As for Lee’s romantic involvements, nothing is known about his love life for sure until his first publicly confirmed relationship, although there were rumors about him previously dating certain Korean celebrities, such as the actress Kim Hyun Joo and the singer Lee Da Hae.
