A Melbourne man who consumed his body mass in hommus has been officially knighted today for his recognition and love of the popular dip.

Obsessed with hommus, the man, who refers to himself as “Hommus Knight” ate 37 tubs of hommus over the past year, keeping the empty tubs to make a suit of armour.

He soon filmed his own video about the achievement, sparking the interest of Yumi’s, a popular brand of hommus.

“I came out of the womb loving hommus. I have always known hommus,” told 9News.

“It is the most refreshing of all condiments across the land.”

Yumi’s today celebrated the man’s passion and commitment to their product with an official knighting ceremony.

Workers at the Hallam Factory were on hand to help with the ceremony and cheer on their new hero.

“I am honestly blown away by his dedication, the fact that he has eaten so much hommus, and he kept the tubs, touched my heart,” Yumi’s Susan Booker said.
