Tottenham and Chelsea both find themselves hunting for a new manager after sacking Antonio Conte and Graham Potter respectively.
A number of names have been mentioned, such as Vincent Kompany, Arne Slot and Luis Enrique, while Julian Nagelsmann also became a shock option after surprisingly losing his job at Bayern Munich.
Now, an interesting update has emerged about the latter.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Times – Nagelsmann is Daniel Levy’s No.1 choice to replace Conte.
However, the German prefers a move to Chelsea, and has already held talks with those at Stamford Bridge.
That certainly does not bode well for Spurs as they attempt to hire the 35-year-old.

The Times add that the aforementioned Slot is wanted by Crystal Palace and West Ham, so Tottenham also face competition for someone they could turn to as an alternative to Nagelsmann.
It isn’t the best time to be looking for a new manager, to say the least.
Nagelsmann should choose Tottenham over Chelsea
In our view, we can’t understand why Nagelsmann would prefer Chelsea at this moment in time.

The Blues have stockpiled a number of players, which seems to have had a negative impact on squad harmony at Stamford Bridge – The Athletic even believe some have to get changed in the corridor as the dressing room simply isn’t big enough for everyone.
Therefore, whoever replaces Potter has a significant task on their hands in regards to keeping everybody happy, while also attempting to streamline the squad and make additions of their own – that is before we even begin to discuss the coaching side of things.
Of course, things aren’t perfect at Tottenham either, although there is more of a blank slate for Nagelsmann to imprint himself on in N17, whereas a lot needs to happen at Chelsea before he can get his ideas across.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as we can’t see the talented German being unemployed for much longer.
