This is something I’ve had to keep quiet about for a while, but I’m stoked to finally announce that I’m a contestant on the brand new BBC Three show PROJECT ICON with Jason Derulo, Becky Hill, Frank Harris and Jordan North.
“From singing a few songs in my bedroom to performing for the judges and working with some extremely talented musicians, I’m extremely grateful to have been given an opportunity like this. Love to everyone who has ever supported music, join me as this journey continues… It’s time to go.”
Asked to describe his musical style, the Nottingham Trent University graduate told the BBC: “My style is a mixture of pop and R&B, I try to create catchy pop lyrics but still try to keep that cool and collected, sexy R&B feel to my music . ”
What musical influences inspired you as a child?
“I’ve always been a big fan of Bruno Mars and seeing him perform at the Superbowl was a huge inspiration that gave me the strength to start making my own music. He is an incredible all-rounder and watching him perform would fill me with so much motivation. His energy on stage was insane and I got goosebumps just watching the man at work.
“Another sound influence of mine was Justin Bieber; I was always covering his songs and playing them on the guitar, and when he made his R&B album, I was forced to follow in his footsteps musically. A lot of my acoustic songs were inspired by Shawn Mendes, so it’s an honorable mention.”

Who are your current music icons?
“Again, I think Justin Bieber continues to slay the game as he’s been churning out hits for over a decade. I think it would be amazing to create the kind of legacy he has in pop culture. Someone I’ve been massively looking up to lately is Harry Styles, purely because of the absolutely insane journey he’s been on. He started on a TV show with limited experience, fast forward to the present and he is one of the biggest entertainers, winning numerous awards and breaking records for his albums.
“It just goes to show how far hard work can get you and I’m so ready to give it my absolute all and continue to get stronger and better at what I do.” I’m also a big fan of Drake, again an artist who has been incredibly successful in the last 10 years and is still a household name, to get to his level would be a dream!”
What is the dream?
“The dream is to travel the world and play shows and continue to make music that just lifts people’s spirits and changes their day. To play in the Superbowl would be such an achievement and a full circle moment after being so motivated by Bruno’s performance.”
