Rory McIlroy: The world’s No. 2 ranked player will finally get off to a strong start after a series of opening-round missteps and the predicted wet conditions will favor his mammoth length over the weekend.

And Rory will finally complete the career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed: One of the LIV Golf players, who was in strong form last week, is the 2018 Masters champion.

He, too, embraces the role of the villain. And many (mostly the PGA Tour) view LIV as evil.

Scottie Scheffler: The defending champion, who also happens to be ranked No. 1 in the world, has the perfect even-keel temperament to become the first player to repeat as Masters champion since Tiger Woods in 2002.

Ian O’Connor

Scottie Scheffler: The world’s best player and defending champ has the unflappable disposition that makes a two-peat the best way to bet.

Oh, and did I forget to mention for the 72nd time that he’s from New Jersey and that I attended high school with his father?

Jon Rahm: The guy has already won three times this year.

An intimidating presence who is going to be a handful at the majors and at the Ryder Cup for a long, long time.

Rory McIlroy: He said his incredible finish at last year’s Masters helped him shed some Augusta National scar tissue, and we’ll find out for sure this weekend.

But Rory is too good to never win here and never complete the career Grand Slam, right?
