King Charles and Queen Camilla’s portrait, coronation invitation revealed

The invitation to the most anticipated event of the 21st century has finally dropped.

Buckingham Palace released the invite to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation on Tuesday, confirming that the event will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Abbey Church of Westminster.

Over 2,000 invitations will go out in the next couple of days, per the royal family’s official website.

The invite — which was designed by Andrew Jamieson, a heraldic artist and manuscript illuminator whose work is inspired by the chivalric themes of Arthurian legend — features the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.

Along with the invitation, the palace also released a new photograph of Charles and Camilla — who has dropped the word “Consort” from her title as it was seen as “too cumbersome,” according to the Daily Mail.

“It made sense to refer to Her Majesty as the Queen Consort in the early months of His Majesty’s reign, to distinguish from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” a source explained.

In the snap, the couple — who has been married since 2005 — held each other close as they smiled at the camera.

Charles, 74, wore a blue suit with a blue and gold tie while Camilla, 75, matched her husband with a blue dress and pearls to accessorize.

Last September, Charles ascended to the throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at age 96.

Since then, the palace has kicked off preparations for the big event, which might be an issue with the King’s youngest son, Prince Harry, who will be celebrating his son Archie’s birthday that same day.

Nonetheless, staff has begun “organizing logistics for the historic occasion” and “have been instructed to include the [Harry and Meghan Markle] in their program for May 6,” sources previously told the Daily Mail.

“Harry and Meghan are being factored into all of the planning … the cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything,” a source told the outlet.

“No one knows for certain whether this means they have definitely accepted — it could, of course, be just in case they do — but it’s clearly not a ‘no.’”

The source added, “The staff are certainly working on the expectation they are coming. These kind of arrangements have to be made well in advance.”

A spokesperson for the ousted couple, who was also evicted from their UK residence recently, confirmed that they had received invitations to Charles’ coronation via email. They did not, however, reveal if they had accepted it.

Tensions between the royal family and Harry and Markle have been high after the couple stepped away from their royal duties in 2020.

On top of that, Harry released his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” which had plenty of stories about his strained relationships with his older brother, Prince William, and their father.

Despite the bad blood, Robert Hardman, author of “Queen of Our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II,” explained that their accepting the coronation invite could be a chance to make amends.

“This is not our show, it’s his show, we are here because that’s the sort of respect for a beautiful thing to do,” he told Page Six. “Private family issues aside … that’s for another day.”
