"Not good": Journalist hates what he saw Liverpool do today, Arsenal will be asking questions

Liverpool players have come under fire for their actions earlier today – and Arsenal will surely be asking questions about the incident.

What’s the story?

Well, the Reds were seen swarming around Simon Hooper to complain about his officiating – something Arsenal have already been charged by the Football Association (FA) for twice this season.

Phil McNulty – Chief Football Writer for the BBC – wrote about the incident.

As seen on BBC Sport’s live blog, he stated: “Referee Simon Hooper was roundly jeered by City’s fans as the teams went off at half-time. They were angry he has not shown yellow cards to Fabinho and Trent-Alexander Arnold but the other side of that ledger is he could have shown a second yellow to Rodri.

“What he did not need was Liverpool‘s players swarming him demanding he brought out the red card. Not good.”

The Gunners were slapped with a charge of improper conduct for that exact thing after crowding around Andy Madley in the 0-0 draw against Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were again charged by the FA following their 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup, in what was a very harsh decision – as you can see below, only a few players contested, and it was hardly anything different to what we see on a weekly basis.

Therefore, Arsenal will surely be asking the FA questions if Liverpool are not charged as well.

FA surely have to charge Liverpool after Arsenal decisions

In our view, it is integral that the FA show some consistency here, or else they will make fools of themselves.

If Liverpool are not slapped with a charge of improper conduct, Mikel Arteta can quite rightly argue that his side are being treated unfairly by the lawmakers.

If the FA are serious about protecting their officials, then they must take action against Liverpool, or else the treatment Hooper received earlier is sure to continue.
