Ana Walshe

A Massachusetts grand jury has indicted Brian Walshe for the murder of his real estate executive wife, Ana, who has been missing since January 1.

Ana Walshe, 39, was reported missing by her employer on January 4. Her husband said he hadn’t seen her since she left for the airport on January 1, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

But investigators found no evidence that Ana Walshe ever boarded a flight for Washington, D.C., where she worked, nor that she had taken a ride share from her home, as her husband said.

Brian Walshe was arrested in January and charged with hindering a missing person investigation after police determined he had lied about his whereabouts on January 1 and 2. Days later, he was charged with murder.

“Brian Walshe entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of murder at his Quincy District Court arraignment in January,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said on Thursday, WCVB reported. “This indictment moves the case to the Norfolk Superior Court, where it will be arraigned anew in the coming weeks. That date has not yet been set.”

In addition to murder, the grand jury handed up indictments for misleading a police investigation/obstruction of justice and for improper conveyance of a human body.

Walshe, 48, is being held without bond.

He faces a mandatory sentence of life without parole if he’s found guilty.
