Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun

Arsenal have a host of top talents in their ranks who look set for an extremely bright future.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are just 21 years old, while William Saliba and Emile Smith Rowe are 22.

Martin Odegaard already captains both Arsenal and Norway, and he’s only 24 years old.

Next season, another 21-year-old could potentially return to the Emirates Stadium and show what he’s capable of.

Folarin Balogun has been enjoying an outstanding campaign on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Reims.

This season, the Hale End graduate has registered 17 goals and two assists from 27 top-flight outings.

Balogun is just two goals behind Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David in the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts this term.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes the 21-year-old can take his Reims form back to the Emirates next term.

The Highbury icon said on the Wrighty’s House podcast: “Hopefully he can come back to Arsenal at some stage and prove himself. He’s gone to another level in confidence.

“I think anywhere he goes in aspect of leagues; he’ll do what he is doing (in France) with the right service.

“It’s the way he’s taking those chances. His head space is at a different place right now. He knows he can do it right now.

“I guarantee you if he comes back, he probably picks up from what he’s doing in that league.”

Balogun proving himself amid uncertain Arsenal future

Despite his heroics on loan, his future at Arsenal appears uncertain.

Reports have been doing the rounds in recent weeks claiming the Gunners are open to selling Balogun in summer.

It would be a controversial decision, as the academy graduate cannot possibly have done more on loan.

For the Gunners, who have only given Balogun two starts so far, it would be like getting a brand new signing.

At the same time, Arsenal’s arsenal is already pretty impressive even without Balogun.

Arteta has Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard at centre-forward.

Likewise, Gabriel Martinelli can also feature there has also played there and done well this season.

At the same time, with Balogun’s stock so high, Arsenal could potentially cash in and get themselves a nice fee.

Whichever club has Balogun in their ranks next season will benefit from an outstanding, prolific striker with a high ceiling.
