Paul Merson has had his say on Liverpool traveling to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently sitting in 6th place, off the back of their gut-wrenching 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid and face the challenge of getting a result against a City side that will approach the game like a final.

Paul Merson has given his two cents on the upcoming contest between Liverpool and Manchester City.
Paul Merson says both Liverpool & Manchester City have a task on their hands
While the Reds have turned up in certain big games this season, namely against both Manchester clubs, they have largely been way off their usual incredible standards.
To the extent that it has become commonplace to suggest that until and unless a major squad overhaul takes place, the cycle under Jurgen Klopp may have come to a sad end.
Paul Merson has chimed in on the challenge that both Liverpool and Manchester City have in front of them of going head-to-head in such a high-profile fixture right after the international break.

“But the pressure is on Man City. They cannot afford to lose. They cannot even afford to draw”, he said on Sky Sports.
While Paul Merson is right about how challenging it is for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to get stuck into such a high-octane contest, the pressure is on the latter to deliver.
