Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have now addressed ongoing speculation of a feud between the duo.

Rumors regarding their relationship have been circulating on social media for half a decade, originating from Bieber’s (née Baldwin) whirlwind courtship with her now husband, Justin Bieber.

Bieber famously dated Gomez on and off from 2011 until 2018. He had been seen getting cozy with his now-wife during periods when his relationship with Gomez had been believed to be ‘off.’

The Biebers would wed in September of 2018, only months after his relationship with the “Lose You To Love Me” singer had finally ended.

Both Bieber and Gomez have spent a significant amount of time attempting to squash the narrative on social media and in interviews. Now, both women have come out and addressed the heightened interest in the state of their relationship over the past month.

The latest round of drama began after Gomez posted a TikTok where she was rocking heavily laminated eyebrows. Bieber’s friend Kylie Jenner posted an Instagram story shortly after, drawing attention to her own eyebrows. In the second slide of her story, the Kylie Cosmetics founder shared a FaceTime screenshot featuring her and Bieber focusing on their brows.

Social media users quickly noticed the parallel, and began speculating Jenner’s Instagram story posts were an intentional swipe toward Gomez. Despite both Bieber and Jenner later denying reports of a feud between them, fans would continue to examine the narrative regarding Bieber and Gomez’s relationship.

Bieber and Gomez Both Speak Out About Social Media’s Fixation On Their Relationship

After several weeks of silence, both Gomez and Bieber would take to their respective Instagram accounts to address the internet’s fascination around an alleged feud.

In Gomez’s statement, she would reveal Bieber had “reached out” to her and revealed she had been receiving death threats.

In Bieber’s statement, she would reveal the duo had been “discussing” how to move forward.
