Stevie Nicol says that if Julian Nagelsmann has got ‘any sense’, then he won’t take the Tottenham Hotspur job right away if Antonio Conte is sacked during the international break.
The Anfield legend thinks that Julian Nagelsmann is the ‘perfect’ manager for Tottenham, but he should ‘wait’ until the summer before making his move.
Of course, for the recently-sacked Bayern Munich coach to become Spurs manager, there needs to be a vacancy.

As of this moment, Conte is still the one pushing the buttons from within the training ground, despite his recent outburst.
For some, it could be a matter of time before the outspoken Italian is booted out, and if he does, then there will be a flurry of managers looking to become Tottenham’s next manager – Luis Garcia has told Spurs to bring in Luis Enrique.
Nagelsmann has previously spoken highly about Spurs, so could he be the next one in the Hotspur Way dugout, well, if he is, then Nicol warned the rising manager about his next move, as he told ESPN.
“If I am a Spurs fan, then I would like that,” said Nicol. “I do agree that if Nagelsmann has got any sense, then he sits back, lets somebody takeover like Ryan Mason and then he can take his time.

“Watch videos. Watch the games and see what the squad is like. He can get all his planning done and figure a lot of things out.
“Don’t take the job now. If he wants it, then it’s his. If I am Tottenham and I heard that Julian Nagelsmann wants to be our manager, are you really going to turn him down?! I think he is perfect for Tottenham and he is perfect for the future. Take the job. Take it easy, then start.”

POCHETTINO OR NAGELSMANN?
Before Nagelsmann sacking at Bayern, the most popular candidate from supporters to replace Antonio Conte was Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs fans just needed a bit of joy back when watching their team, and with a possible return of Pochettino, they would have got that in bucket loads.
But whilst the former PSG boss is still much-loved by supporters, it seems as though a new frontrunner in Nagelsmann has entered the race to replace Conte if and when he is booted out by Daniel Levy.
