Ronnie “Ron” Ortiz-Magro is back on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” following a two-year hiatus.
Ronnie Is Back Amid Sammi’s Return
Coincidentally, or not coincidentally, his return comes just weeks after MTV announced his ex-girlfriend, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, would be returning to the show full-time.
The couple had a tumultuous relationship throughout the reality TV series origin show, “Jersey Shore.”
Their rollercoaster relationship was documented throughout six seasons from 2009 to 2012.
Ron returned for the MTV spinoff, ‘JSFV,’ but left due to personal struggles.
Ronnie Stepped Away To Handle His Drinking & Mental Health Issues
“After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I’ve ignored for too long,” he wrote on an Instagram Story in May 2021. “My No. 1 goal now is facing my struggles head on. This process will be difficult, but my No. 1 priority is to get healthy and be the best man and the best father I can [be] for my daughter.”
It looks like two years of facing his struggles paid off because he made a rare appearance on the show to announce his move to Miami, FL.
He is uprooting his life in Los Angeles, CA. with his daughter, Ariana, and making a move down south for a “change of pace” and “change of scenery.”
Ron revealed he is opening a sneaker shop in South Florida and touched on the “bad situation” he was in over “the last couple of years.”
Ronnie Nearly Lost His Daughter
“It’s just something that’s always been a passion of mine,” he explained. “I almost lost everything that I built. I almost lost my daughter.”
Ron referred to his domestic violence arrest in 2021 while on probation for a previous domestic violence charge.
He entered treatment for alcohol for eight or nine months.

“It helped me grow and made me stronger,” he admitted on the March 23rd episode.
As previously mentioned, Sam is returning to her “Jersey Shore” roots because her ex was finally out of the show’s picture… or so she thought.
It’s been 11 looong years since the “sweetest b***h you’ll ever meet” has graced MTV or their cameras.
The official “Jersey Shore” Instagram account announced the unexpected and exciting news earlier this month.
“She’s still the sweetest bitch you’ll ever meet. 🎥💋 @sammisweetheart #JSFamilyVacation,” the caption read.
Her ‘JS’ co-stars expressed their absolute shock in the comments section.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote, “Omgomgomfomfomggondnsodhfh.”
Jenni “JWOWW” Farley shared a bunch of clapping hand emojis.
Angelina Pivarnick commented with “🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌.”
According to reports, Paul D, JWOWW, Snooki, Mike, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese Buckner and Angelina had no idea Sammi would be showing up to set this week.
The ‘JSFV’ Cast Was SHOCKED By Sammi’s Return
They were just as surprised as the rest of the “Jerzday” fandom.
It’s reported there was laughter, tears and everything in between when MTV producers told the cast.
It was all captured on camera and will be shown during the latter half of season six of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.”
However, an official air date for Sammi’s return is still to be determined, but that’s not to say MTV has a big announcement and promo up its sleeve.
