Pastor Judah Smith makes an appearance in Interlude Judah Smith, the fifth song from Lana Del Rey’s new studio album.
Lana’s ninth studio album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd hit streaming platforms on Friday, March 24, 2023.
The album consists of 16 tracks and includes the songs Sweet, The Grants, Fingertips, Peppers, Fishtail, among others.

Who is Judah Smith?
Judah Smith is an American pastor and lead communicator at Churchhome. The church has been described as a “celeb-approved megachurch” and is run by Judah and his wife Chelsea Smith in Kirkland.
On his personal Instagram profile, the 44-year-old pastor describes himself as a “husband, father, and golfer” to a fan base of 705,000 followers.
This isn’t the first time the pastor has partnered up with a major music star. Judah collaborated with Chandler Moore and Justin Bieber during a live performance of Where Do I Fit In.
Judah has built a close friendship with the megastar and also appeared on several songs of Bieber’s Freedom EP, which dropped in 2021.
What does the pastor say in Interlude Judah Smith?
Judah makes an appearance on Lana’s fifth track with a five-minute sermon. The track appears to be a recording from one of Judah’s sermons in which Lana and her friends can be heard chatting and laughing in the background.
“This is gonna sound crazy to you, but I’m gonna tell you the absolute truth,” the pastor shouts in the sermon. “It’s gonna make me sound so superior to us all, I’m looking forward to it. I woke up this morning and God said, ‘Check the Bible’.”
Elsewhere, he also talks about living “a life dominated with lust” and says: “Help me, God, I wanna be a man in love, not a man in lust’.”
The interlude didn’t receive the best welcome on Twitter and some users have joked that it was the only collaboration that they skipped on Lana’s album.
“Judah Smith [is] the only person who can get me to skip a track on a Lana Del Rey album,” wrote one user.
Another added: “Finally I have a song (eventually not a song’ DUH) to skip in Lana del Rey’s album like she has given a chance to skip something.”
Someone else wrote: “Girl why is Judah Smith’s interlude literally a recording of a pastor talking? Sorry, Lana but I had to skip.”
Lana’s new album
As explained above, the interlude is part of Lana’s new album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. The 16-track album includes collaborations with Jack Antonoff, Father John Misty, Jon Batiste, Syml, Riopy, and Tommy Genesis.
Earlier this year, Lana released new merch items to mark the release of her album, which included a racing jacket and a necklace that fans got obsessed with.
