World Cup winner Mario Gotze is not concerned about reports linking his Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner with Antonio Conte’s job at Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.
On a day in which Bayern Munich shipped out Julian Nagelsmann and appointed Thomas Tuchel quicker than you can say ‘oh, that seems a bit harsh’, the future of another Bundesliga boss was also the subject of much discussion.
Glasner will soon enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Commerzbank Arena.
Frankfurt hope to tie the Austrian down to a new, £3 million-a-year deal amid claims from BILD that Tottenham have made initial contact with Glasner’s camp.
But Gotze, who joined from PSV Eindhoven last summer and has struck up an exceptional partnership with Randal Kolo Muani, is not losing much sleep, insisting that he remains ‘relaxed’ about a fluid and ever-changing situation.

“I haven’t talked to him about it yet,” Gotze, the 2014 World Cup winner back in international contention, tells Kicker ahead of Saturday’s friendly vs Peru.
“Rumours are relatively common. I’m not a fan of talking about them. In the end it’s always a decision of the club, the manager. There are so many factors and issues that go into it.”

“In the middle of the season, the focus is different, so I’m relatively relaxed there. He (Glasner) also has a year’s contract.”
Glasner spent two years at Wolfsburg between 2019 and 2021, and guided Frankfurt to Europa League glory almost 12 months ago. The man himself, like Gotze, is putting the speculation to one side for the time being. Interestingly, Glasner is refusing to rule out an extended stay at Frankfurt either.
“We’re having some unrest right now, but I have a contract for over a year,” Glasner tells Sky.
“Perhaps you should think about whether it’s wise for the media to act like that. There’s no reason to be nervous. When everyone comes back (after the international break), we will address it.
“I don’t know why anyone is nervous,” Glasner adds. “I still have 17 months of contract (remaining). Christian Streich (Freiburg coach) has just extended his contract, which expires in the summer, and nobody was nervous.
“I didn’t say in any way that I wanted to leave the club. No one will believe what I say anyway. That’s why I won’t say anything more about it now.”
